Record Microsoft Teams

Capture Teams calls with System audio + microphone in the web app, whether the meeting runs in a browser or the Teams desktop app. The Chrome extension also lets you record a Teams tab directly.

Teams in the browser

Join the meeting at teams.microsoft.com (or via the “join on the web instead” option):

• With the extension: from the Teams tab, click the Banter extension icon and start recording. The extension also reads participant names from Teams, which improves speaker labels.
• Without it: in your note, mic button → System audio + microphone → choose Entire screen and turn on Share system audio.

If system audio is unavailable, you can select the meeting tab with tab audio enabled in the same picker, or use the Chrome extension to record the tab directly.

Screenshots with Cmd+Shift+S are cropped to the shared content on Teams automatically — useful when someone’s presenting.

The native Teams client

Capture it from the web app by sharing your screen’s audio:

1. In your note, click the mic button → System audio + microphone.
2. In the share picker, switch to Entire screen, turn on Also share system audio, and share.
3. Banter hears the Teams call (and anything else your computer plays) while your mic stays on its own channel — who-said-what still works.

Only the audio is kept; the screen itself isn’t recorded. This needs nothing installed, which matters on corporate machines that force the native client and block installs — see Choose your setup. The desktop app (early access: [email protected]) does the same without the share-picker step.

After the call

The note gets a speaker-labeled transcript and summary a few minutes after you stop. Problems? Recording troubleshooting.
