Screenshots
Attach what was on screen to the moment it happened — one shortcut, cropped to the shared content.
A transcript tells you what was said; a screenshot preserves what was shown. With the Chrome extension installed, one shortcut captures the current tab into your open note.
The shortcut
Cmd+Shift+S (Mac) / Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows) — captures the visible tab and attaches the image to the note you have open in Banter. You can also trigger it from the extension popup.
On Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, the capture is automatically cropped to the shared content — you get the deck slide or the demo screen, not the whole meeting chrome with participant tiles.
During a recording
Screenshots taken mid-recording are attached at that moment, so when you review the note later, the pricing slide sits alongside the part of the transcript where pricing was discussed.
Typical uses:
- The pricing or architecture slide in a customer call
- A whiteboard at the end of a working session (from the phone camera → paste)
- An error state during a demo, right at the timestamp where it happened
Without the extension
Paste works everywhere: any image on your clipboard drops straight into a note (Cmd+V). Drag-and-drop works too. You lose the auto-cropping and the one-shortcut flow, but the result is the same — an image in the note.
Finding them later
Every image is indexed with an AI-written description, so screenshots show up in search. Ask the assistant “find the screenshot of the pricing slide from the Acme call” and it can.
